I started teaching these two students two months ago and they had no prior knowledge of Thai language before the lessons. The conversation was about shopping. He bought a shirt and she asked him how much it was. The major concern for the lessons at this point is getting the basic structure down at this point and working on pronunciation and vocabulary.

Aww Moments
I just got this e-mail from one of my Thai students.
“Hope you are doing well.
I’ve been enjoying my time here in Asia, and very much my time in
Thailand. This year, more than in the past, the locals are
complimenting me on my thai language skills. The bellman at the
hotel was particularly gushing in his praise. Anyway, as I round out the
year, I wanted to say thank you for the excellent language
instruction.”
And one student wrote this note to me:
“I enjoy you as a teacher. I’ve really learned a lot. Keep teaching, you’re very good at it. Good luck with everything.”
I guess I’m just happy because I wasn’t expecting to see these kind words. =)
Merry Christmas, everyone.
